This has been one hell of a week for Atlanta. For one, we survived the epic "snow storm" that some of us didn't even get to witness. But, better to be safe than sorry right? Right.
The Golden Globes took place this week and Stone Mountain's Donald Glover, creator/writer/director (basically everything) of Atlanta, snagged two Golden Globes for the show. If you are aware of Glover, you know he can be very nonchalantly funny, which makes his jokes even funnier. However, this guy shouts out the whole city of "Atlanta and all the black folks" during his acceptance speech and not only that, the Migos too. If you didn't watch the series, YRN had a cameo and actually played drug dealers and Quavo was the head "Huncho."
Complex covers how Glover and the Migos linked up:
He goes on to say that "Bad and Boujee" is "...the best song ever" at the end of his speech and my daughter will probably agree. But, since Glover's speech, the song climbed to the number one spot on the charts and its views on YouTube and hits on Spotify grew significantly. Plus, they announced a show in NYC to celebrate their upcoming album Culture and it sold out within 15 effing minutes. Now, that's pretty bad ass!
I'd like to end this post on the highest note possible with the "Bad and Boujee" video because the song is catchy af and ATL is winning per usual. #DatWay
